| Club Matrix
and our clubnight LOVE Saturdays blasted onto
the Northern Irish clubbing scene on Valentine's
Night February 2004 and over eighteen months,
brought some of the biggest DJs in the world
to Northern Ireland.
Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten,
Fergie, Judge Jules, Marco V, Above and
Beyond, Mauro Picotto, Chris Liebing, Pete
Tong, Jeff Mills, Scot Project, Inland Knights,
Smokin Jo, Anne Savage, MIKE Push, Jon O
Bir, BK, Guy Ornadel, Tall Paul, Matt Darey,
Tidy Boys, Dave Pearce, Scott Bond, Les
Hemstock, Adam Sheridan, Steve Mac and Rob
Tissera and some of the North's most celebrated
home DJs - presided over Ryan Maxwell and
Chris Davis - were among the top names to
play the venue which quickly established
itself as one of the country's top nightspots.
The line up was as magnificent as it was
varied with strains of trance, techno, house
music and very occasionally a little hardcore
all making their way into the entertainment
schedule at intervals throughout the month.
Quickly establishing a devoted crowd, over
3,000 members signed up to Club Matrix during
its lifetime, creating some of the most
electric party atmospheres the Northern
Irish clubbing scene has witnessed.
The club was forced to close on August 12th
2005 after the closure of hotel next door.
The licence of the nightclub was dependant
on the hotel being open for business.
The LOVE Saturdays brand is a nightclub
extension of the Planet Love festival brand,
and we continue to run one off nights across
Northern Ireland, while we seek a new weekly
home.
