Details Announced!
Planet Love WKD The Festival 2006 has
once again blasted onto the Irish music scene
with a scorching line up, and now also - official
association with BBC Radio 1!
Chart-topping dance music band Chicane will
deliver an exclusive, first ever for Ireland,
fully live performance, while number 1 DJ
in the world Paul Van Dyk will make a star
appearance, as will Madchester legends the
Happy Mondays!
The historic grounds of Shanes Castle
in Antrim will host the festival which this
year takes place on 9th September 2006. Running
from 2pm until 2am, a plethora of DJs and
dance acts will be flown in from across the
globe to perform on a variety of stages under
several big canvasses.
Most exciting for this years event is
the involvement of BBC Radio 1. A selection
of their dance shows will be broadcast live
from Planet Love on the day, including those
of Judge Jules and former Larne-man-turned-superstar-DJ,
Fergie, as well as the Essential Mix. Many
other DJ sets from the festival will be recorded
for future broadcast on BBC Radio 1.
A limited number of Early Bird Tickets will
be made available ONLY in selected outlets
for three weeks from Monday 5th June until
Saturday June 24th, priced £33 including
all fees. From Monday June 26th the general
Planet Love ticket goes on sale at all usual
ticket outlets nationwide, including Ticketmaster,
priced £39.95 which includes booking
fee. Agents fee may apply in certain outlets.
In another first for the festival this year
an official transport network has been laid
on from towns across Northern Ireland, while
a shuttle bus will travel to and from Planet
Love at Shanes Castle on the day from
Belfast and Lisburn City Centres.
There are so many firsts
for this festival, said co-promoter
Eddie Wray of PLM Promotions. As well
as a phenomenal line up, we have laid on official
transport from across the country, we have
introduced an early bird ticket system, the
event will take place on a Saturday, and best
of all, the event is in association with BBC
Radio 1. We are also putting big emphasis
on the festival experience this year and have
made many changes from last years event.
Judith Robinson, Brand Development Executive
for Beverage Brands, said: WKD is very
proud to partner Planet Love this year. The
event boasts an impressive line up, and the
endorsement of BBC Radio 1 this year is testament
to the success of Planet Love over the years.
All at WKD are looking forward to seeing you
there.
The full stage layout will be released online
here on Thursday 29th June while this website
will feature regular festival updates throughout
the coming weeks and months.
So, guess what
ITS TIME!
